Cathy Fisher – Haslett, MI
East Ingham County Chapter
Cathy Fisher became an advocate for LGBTQ+ teens when many people in her family started coming out as LGBTQ+. Knowing that the risk of suicide drops by 40% for LGBTQ+ teens that have an accepting adult in their life, she wants to make sure every teen in eastern Ingham County has access to one. In addition, she wants to provide a safe environment where teens can be their authentic selves, have fun, and feel supported.

Flat River Chapter
Barbe is a huge LGBTQIA+ ally in the Belding and Greenville area. She is co-chair for the Ionia County Democrat Party, a server at Gather restaurant, and full-time caregiver of her Autistic cousin. She also loves the outdoors, painting, writing, gardening, music, sports, and kids making her a great leader for I'll be Your Rock. She is excited to serve the LGBTQIA+ community.
Whitney Stek a founding member of Voices of Flat River Pride. Whitney enjoys building a community that celebrates authenticity, inclusion, and love. A proud bisexual woman and mother to LGBTQ+ children, Whitney serves as the Director of Youth and Family Support, where her mission is to ensure every young person feels safe, valued, and supported. She believes that when families and allies come together, we can build a world where all children can thrive exactly as they are.
Phoenix Jano--Livingston, Texas
We are so pleased to welcome Phoenix Jano to our team of Rocks.
Phoenix grew up in a deeply conservative Christian environment that caused them to repress and attempt to alter who they were. It took them decades to accept themself and truly begin healing. When they learned about I’ll Be Your Rock from Christine Terpening, Phoenix felt a strong desire to be a part of helping to support and care for LGBTQ teens and felt a drive to see a chapter set up in their own area of Livingston, TX. “I know that kids going through adverse circumstances have better outcomes when they have even one adult in their life who cares and gives support.”
